- How painful is sugaring?
- Sugaring is noticeably gentler than hot wax. Because the paste is lukewarm and pulled with the direction of hair growth, it doesn't tug the skin. The first appointment is the most intense; by the third visit most clients describe it as very manageable.
- How long does sugaring last?
- Three to five weeks. On a consistent four-week schedule, hair returns finer and sparser because more follicles are removed on the same growth cycle.
- How long does hair need to be for sugaring?
- About a quarter inch — roughly two weeks of growth. Sugar paste can actually grab slightly shorter hair than wax, but a quarter inch gives the cleanest result.
- Can sugaring be used on sensitive skin?

- How do I prevent ingrown hairs?
- Wait 48 hours, then exfoliate gently two to three times a week, moisturize daily with a fragrance-free lotion, wear loose cotton for the first day after your appointment, and don't shave between visits. Consistent sugaring reduces ingrowns over time because hair regrows finer.
- What should I avoid after waxing?
- For 24 hours: hot showers, saunas, hot tubs, swimming pools, workouts and heavy sweating, tanning and direct sun, tight synthetic clothing, and fragranced products on the area.
- Why is my skin bumpy after waxing?
- Small red bumps are histamine reaction and normally settle within a few hours. A cool compress and a fragrance-free moisturizer help. Bumps that persist past two days are usually irritation from friction or sweat.
- Can I shave between appointments?
- It's better not to. Shaving resets the growth cycle and undoes the fine, sparse regrowth that consistent waxing or sugaring builds up.
